COMPS - COmposite Members Present Studies

COMPOSITE primarily uses a generalised approach, adopting common data collection procedures and measures across countries. Although this allows for interesting cross-country comparisons and broad insights, it does not allow for in-depth and tailored investigations within each of the COMPOSITE countries.

Based on this observation, the primary aim of the targeted studies, which is part of work package 6 (identity and identification) and 7 (leadership), is to focus on one particular change project of interest in each of the COMPOSITE countries. We use different approaches (longitudinal surveys, detailed case studies and network analyses) depending on the particular topic of interest, and preferences of our police forces and country teams. While all projects focus on change, focal topics range from leadership and identity alignment, to cross-country policing networks and large-scale national reorganisations. We hope that these projects will provide country-specific and nuanced insights into best practices in change management across European forces, also capitalising on the rich expertise and context knowledge of our consortium members.
